Refillable Floss & Container
This floss container can be reused over and over, refilled with new spools of our bamboo or corn floss. Our reusable floss containers are made from bamboo, a naturally-grown renewable resource that does not require pesticides. When you get a container, we include one spool of either our corn or bamboo floss — both of which are vegan!
Our floss spools are core-less (less waste!), 50 meters long, vegan, and come in compostable packaging. You can either get them as single spools, or in three packs. If the container wears out, bamboo can be composted at home or commercially.
Refillable Floss
We have two different sustainable floss options that ensure you'll find the best fit for you and your teeth while reducing waste.
Our Compostable black organic corn floss is made from organic corn, has a natural mint flavor, is vegan, contains no petroleum-based plastic, and is completely compostable in industrial composting facilities. We have found that our corn floss has a bit of a learning curve to master (to avoid it breaking), but have also found that it performs much better than silk versions of compostable floss. Plus, it’s made with vegan, plant-based candelilla wax.
For those of you with tighter teeth, our Non-Compostable black bamboo charcoal floss offers a much improved low waste floss option but still contains a small amount of petroleum-based plastic. It provides an amazing flossing experience, much closer to a traditional dental floss while still containing much less plastic than most floss on the market. It is also vegan, made with plant-based candelilla wax, naturally antimicrobial, and detoxifying with a natural mint flavor.
Use
Bamboo is naturally antimicrobial but requires a little TLC to make sure it lasts a long time. To reduce cracking, keep the bamboo parts dry and do not soak or submerge them in water. To avoid discoloration and potential mold, keep dry and store in a dry location between usage. Occasionally, sunbath your bamboo and/or use a natural disinfectant like our alcohol sanitizing spray or tea tree. Bamboo can be oiled to increase its useful life.
