Making Refills Accessible For YOU...
Looking Back For Climate Solutions Today!
Our shared climate problem... for us, sometimes the best solution to a climate problem is to turn around and take a step forward. Our way to a less wasteful community grocery store to draw from what grocery stores looked like in the past: local foods, healthier options, and less packaging.
We are inspired by the above photo, a snapshot of what one of our favorite food co-ops looked like in 1976 (The Briar Patch)… the focus is on the food itself, and duh, it's mostly bulk : )
With that in mind... we would like to announce that you can now find some of our bulk cleaning products in the bulk section at The Food Mill in the Dimond District in Oakland. The Food Mill opened in 1933 in the Great Depression with just a few stone mills, milling their own grains and selling them to the public. Local farmers would bring in their grains, nuts, fresh and dried fruits for milling or sale, making The Food Mill one of Oakland’s first natural food stores. The Food Mill still specializes in serving the local community lots of bulk natural foods.
So, if you happen to find yourself in the Dimond District, pop by The Food Mill and load up on your usual Re-Up dish soap, liquid laundry detergent, and hand soap right in the bulk section.
We will be at The Food Mill this Saturday, October 21, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM with samplings, information, and excitement! Come on by and say hi and get those questions answered! Don't forget to BYO container : )
* P.S. get your paws on one of their cookie bars, they're fantastic.
Sales, sales, Sales! Don't forget that we have sales on right now...
