Clean Air Day... Plastic Waste = Carbon Pollution!

Clean Air Day... plastic waste = carbon pollution!

We all need clean air... Join us on Sunday, September 29 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM...

130 million tons of plastic are produced each year, mostly from fossil fuels, causing 3.4% of global greenhouse gasses. Nearly half of that plastic gets thrown away after a single use. And, despite the “recycling” triangle printed on plastic, very little can actually be recycled (aka it’s trash). The great majority of plastic ends up in toxic incinerators, landfills, waterways, beaches, or as microplastics in everything from rain to animal stomachs to human placentas.

Single-use plastic leads to carbon pollution and a whole host of other environmental issues. Ditching single-use waste by refilling is one way of voting with your dollars for a better, less wasteful way forward. We invite you to join us for an informational pop-up around single-use waste reduction and to take the Clean Air Day pledge… pledging is a few quick clicks and some doable actions to help reduce our urban air pollution!
It's that time again, let's VOTE!
